Today, we will learn about internal hardware.

Please review the goals and objectives before we start our lesson.

Goal: Students will learn more complex internal computer hardware.
Objectives:
Students will be able to recall basic computer hardware components learned in the previous lesson using a call and response poem.
Students will be able to discuss internal computer hardware using proper technical terms.
Students will be able to complete the PowerPoint self-guided quiz independently.
Students will be able to identify internal and external hardware components using a flashcard game.

Did you see computers outside of the classroom yesterday? Take out your list and get ready to share with the class.

We will review yesterday's lesson using a poem. Ms. T. will say each line. You will repeat it after her, and point to the part on the computer that the line talks about.

Use this link to view the poem:

We will view a PowerPoint about the hardware that is inside of the computer. We can't see it normally, unless the computer is taken apart. Before we begin, let's think about computers and their parts. Yesterday, we learned that computers have an inside and an outside that make them work, just like us. What other ways are computers like our bodies and their parts?

Remember playing Slap Jack yesterday? We will play it again today, but now, we will add new cards for the components we learned today.

To finish our lesson, we're going to take another PowerPoint quiz. Don't worry, it's not for a grade.

When you open the quiz, select Internal Hardware. If you answer the question correctly, you will be taken to the next question. If you answer incorrectly, you will be given a chance to try again.

Let's reflect on our lesson. What did you like learning about today? What was hard to understand? Is there anything we should review again tomorrow?

Before tomorrow's class, let's think about how all of these parts work. Do they send information to you or do you use them to send information into the computer? Think about the components you use most often, or like the most. What do they do with information?
